Information on the Daintree Rainforest:
There are four layers of the Daintree Rainforest:
- The Rainforest is warm and dense, It's temperature ranges from 25 degrees Celsius in the winter to 32 degrees in the summer. The driest seasons are from May to October and the wettest seasons are from November to April. The average rainfall is 2,000 mm a year.
- It has survived all it's natural disasters it's been through such as volcano explosions, rising and falling of sea levels, glacier movement, and cyclonic winds. This rainforest is destroyed at a rate of 246,000 square kilometers a year from environmental threats, mining, tourism, and development by private enterprise.
There are four layers of the Daintree Rainforest:
- Emergent: Giant trees that are higher than the average canopy height. Many birds and insects live here.
- Canopy: The upper part of the trees. most of the rain forest's insects, reptiles, mammals, and birds, live in this area.
- Understory: This area under the leaves and above ground is very warm and receives 2 to 15% of light.
- Forest floor: Large animals live here. This layer provides a warm enough environment for them to live.
